...... the bahng family business ......

the bahng family corporation, also known as the BFC, was founded in the early 1940’s by nami’s great grandfather. a finance and investment company, the business has been family run since it’s beginning. her father had worked there since the moment he graduated college, and it had been passed down to him upon his own father’s retirement. these days, it’s a well known conglomerate with dealings in not only finance and investment, but with other big name companies as well.

born in 1962 to an already successful family, bahng daeho was what you would call silver spoon fed. he had a privileged life, to say the least. going to one of korea’s most prestigious private schools, he met his beloved wife when they were both just kids attending such school. they didn’t get together, however, until their late high school years. it was during college, as they both strived towards degrees, that they got married. though they didn’t advertise it, bahng eunjeong, daeho’s wife, graduated college pregnant with their first child.it was to be a little boy, and the entire bahng family was overjoyed to say the least. though it was nice to make believe they’d have been happy with either gender, a boy was considered a fit heir for BFC. born to one day lead the family’s company. it wasn’t long after their first child was born, as daeho worked under his father at BFC, that eunjeong fell pregnant with their second child.this time, it was a little girl.

born as the second and final child to daeho and eunjeong, a little girl nonetheless, nami was always doted on in her family. babied by her parents and grandparents, and even adored by her older brother. much like her father, and the rest of the bahng family, nami had it easy. the bahng’s had not known struggle for several generations and were the very definition of chaebols. naturally, nami was raised in this light. a rich girl with a CEO for a father.while expectations were placed on nami’s brother, nami got to live a much more carefree life in comparison. she was the baby, and she did what she pleased most of the time. spoiled, maybe, but it didn’t sour her. she was a sunshiney girl, a bright presence to those around her. giving and kind, the type of child that always had a smile on her face. even as she grew, she held onto that. her golden heart.she’d never exactly cared much for traditional studies, but did well nonetheless as was expected of her by her family. she much preferred slacking off, playing video games with her brother, to studying though. still, she went to college and got a degree —- one to please her parents more than anything else. something simple in business and finance. she was smart, even if she never cared much for those kinds of dealings.after college, however, she didn’t began working at BFC how her brother was. she had little to no interest in it, and simply did not want to do so. instead, she spent her time being a spoiled rich kid, not working or attending school. only showing her face at business events when the entire family was expected, and otherwise holing up in her room to play games most of the time. she had friends, sure, and did things outside of her home on occasion, but nothing could beat sitting in her computer chair playing league in sweats and a hoodie, could it?of course, even if nami had never been placed with the same expectations as her older brother, and had been babied since her birth, her father still wanted more for her. though ideally she’d work at BFC as the rest of her family did, he just wanted her to do something with her life. the chances of that were slim, though, if the girl hardly ever did anything but yell into her headset. thus, the iris stay.

sent by her father to disconnect — nami wasn’t exactly overjoyed to be at the iris stay. still, she didn’t throw a fit. she followed her father’s wishes, although knowing it wouldn’t exactly be her dream vacation how it could be for many others. daeho, and even eunjeong, hope for this to be a turning point in their daughter’s life. hope she’ll come back and see the real world has much more to offer than her silly little games. nami? nami just hopes she can make it a few weeks without her PC…

for a girl who spends most of her time holed up in her bedroom, she's a pretty open person. she doesn't hide how she's feeling or pretend to be happy when she isn't. what you see is really what you get with nami.that being said, most often, you won't find nami with anything but a smile on her face. she's happy go lucky, and as sweet as the candy she eats like it's going to be discontinued anyday and she has to get enough in before then. she can get sad or angry like anyone else, but has a positive outlook and is harder to upset than others.she's a total goof. that's the best way to describe nami. fun, benevolent, but most of all just goofy. she doesn't take things seriously most of the time and spends more time playing video games than she does doing anything else. in this way, some find her to be immature. she doesn’t let it bother her though.of course, as much of a shut in as she can be, if someone wants her to go do something crazy with them, she'll usually say yes. she does have an adventurours side to her.she understands what her parents wish for her, and why they wish it, but she likes what she likes, right? for now, the present is what matters to her. living in the now. not worrying about the future, or adult things like, ya know, getting a job or even falling in love...at the end of the day, nami is a sweet girl with a good heart, even she can be a bit immature and silly. she's a great friend to have, and has a lot of love to give to those around her ( amonst other, lavish and expensive, things... ) .
